Destination: The Gettysburg Battlefield & the Shenandoah National Park

Sunday - Day 1

I had ridden to Greenfield on Saturday evening (I live 60 miles west of Greenfield) to meet up with Dave on Sunday morning to begin our trip.  We left Greenfield, OH and headed east on SR-28 and ran it over to Chillicothe  to top off our gas tanks and bellies.  From Chillicothe we headed east on US-50 until we got east of Athens.  Then we shot north on SR-690 to Ohio scenic route 550 and headed east.  We took SR-550 to Marietta, OH and located SR-26 and headed eastward.  SR-26 is an excellent twisty road and we highly recommend riding it if you are ever in that locale.  We took SR-26 to SR-800 and turned left and ran it into Woodsfield where we refueled the bikes and had a bite to eat.  We got on SR-78 in Woodsfield and ran it east to SR-536 (very curvy road) down to SR-7 south and crossed the bridge over into West Virginia.  WV-7 runs over to and thru Morgantown, WV.  We got to Morgantown and worked our way thru it to I-68 east and ran it to exit 7 where our room awaited.  Total: 290 miles.
