LAS VEGAS / ROUTE 66 TRIP — 2004

The plan was to fly from Naples, FL to Las Vegas, rent some motorcycles and get some desert and hilly-country riding in. The original goal was to ride from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon, but about 8 inches of snow forced a change of plans.

Instead, the ride went to Oatman, Lake Havasu City and historic Route 66, dropping from roughly 6,700 feet to around 1,000 feet to get out of the snow.

Besides visiting Las Vegas, the rides and visits to Oatman, Lake Havasu City and Route 66 turned out to be a great part of the trip.
