June 2017 Motorcycle Trip

The Trip
The original plan was to meet in Greenfield, Ohio and depart for Charleston, South Carolina. After riding mostly in the rain on Monday, Dave getting a flat tire about a mile from the exit, and finally reaching the motel in Wytheville, Virginia, the weather forecast showed very stormy conditions along the southern East Coast.
The plan changed Tuesday morning. Jim and Dave headed west from Wytheville toward Knoxville, Tennessee and spent the next several days riding the Great Smoky Mountains area, including the Tail of the Dragon, The Rattler, The Snake, Moonshiner 28, the Cherohala Skyway, the Foothills Parkway and many other parkways and backroads.
